CryptoTax SA is a software tool that ingests South African cryptocurrency transaction data, normalises it, and generates tax snapshots and practitioner-facing exports to support SARS filing.

The platform applies defined classification and calculation logic to the data you supply. It does not contact SARS, does not file on your behalf, and does not provide advisory services.

The platform is not a tax practitioner, law firm, financial adviser, or accountant. No output produced by CryptoTax SA constitutes tax, legal, or financial advice.

It does not guarantee that SARS will accept any position, classification, or report generated by the platform. Final filing responsibility always rests with the taxpayer and their chosen practitioner.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not share credentials or permit unauthorised access.

Workspace owners control which users and clients have access to records, reports, and connected exchange credentials. You are responsible for configuring workspace membership correctly and for the data submitted by users in your workspace.

All transaction data, exchange connections, and valuation sources you supply remain your responsibility. The platform processes what it receives; it cannot detect omissions, fabrications, or errors in the source data.

You must review generated outputs before filing or sharing them with SARS, a practitioner, or any third party. Status labels such as Review Required or Non-Taxable are workflow signals, not conclusions.

You must not use the platform for any unlawful purpose, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service, reverse-engineer the classification logic for competitive purposes, or submit data you do not have the right to submit.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe the platform is being misused, attacked, or used in a way that risks other users' data or the platform's integrity.

The service is still being validated with practitioner partners. Features, calculations, exports, and integration behaviour may change as the product matures.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance, third-party failures, or security events may cause temporary unavailability, and we will restore service as quickly as reasonably possible.

The platform operates on a defined set of supported import formats, valuation sources, and classification rules. Edge cases including complex DeFi positions, rare NFT transactions, disputed disposals, business-context classification, and multi-jurisdiction residency may require manual review or practitioner judgment outside the platform.

We do not warrant that every possible crypto asset, exchange, or transaction type is handled automatically. Missing valuation scenarios surface as review items by design and must be resolved before filing.

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, we exclude liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the platform, reliance on its outputs, or any decision made on the basis of those outputs.

Our liability for any claim arising out of these terms is capped at the greater of the amount you paid for the service in the preceding twelve months or R1,000 (one thousand rand).

You may stop using the platform at any time. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these terms, misuse the platform, or provide false information.

On termination you remain entitled to export your workspace data. Access to the platform ends, but any retention obligations continue as described in the Privacy Policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
